The Matinee dress is a truly elegant and authentic forties-style dress, reproduced from an original garment from the era. The peachy orange colour of the cosmetic Pan Stik popular at the time and the dress's effortless silhouette means it can be worn to a casual picnic or a formal ball with a simple change of accessories. Made of light crepe the Matinee is a beautifully-constructed piece that turns heads whenever and wherever it is worn.

With a low neckline and gathering into the bust cup it can be pulled closed across with a hook-and-eye closure. It has a modest shawl collar, and additional gathering where the sleeve meets the shoulder seam adds a small amount of volume.

There is also an inverted tuck on the short sleeve hem.

The waist panel is a sloping reverse V-shape, while the panelling in the skirt creates movement and flow. The construction of the Matinee is one that flatters the figure in the way only vintage clothing can.
